Hawes win team competition
Catterick Garrison Athletics Stadium played host to the second year of the Small Schools Quadkids Athletics competition. Fifty pupils from across the partnership took part in tthe competition where each pupil competed in 75m Sprint, Vortex Howler Throw, Standing Long Jump and 600m run, with it all being finished off with a 4 x 100m relay.
Hunton and Arrathorne and Melsonby had participated last year but Hawes entered the competition for the first time and it proved to be a very successful first time entry. Hawes won the overall team competition with 1362 points with Melsonby A in 2nd with 1313 points and Hunton and Arrathorne B came 3rd with 1211 points, Hunton and Arrathorne A came 4th with 1121 and Melsonby B came 5th with 896 points.
There was also an individaul competition for both the Boys and Girls, the boys winner was Jacob Smith from Hunton and Arrathorne and the Girls winner was Rebecca Smith from Melsonby.
