RAF Leeming win a very close competition
On the first day of Wimbledon the best Y 3/4 tennis players from the Risedale SSP took part in their own tournament to challenge for the opportunity to represent the Partnership at the Youth Games on 4th July. Bedale Tennis club kindly allowed us to use their courts for the competition on what was a very warm afternoon.
All the teams made up of 2 boys and 2 girls that took part had qualified through their cluster tournament. The players were split into 4 groups and played a round robin format on each of the courts. All matches were played to first to 10.
All the scores from all the matches were added together and only 2 points separated the top 2 teams. The final results were as follows:
1st Raf Leeming
2nd Burneston
3rd Leyburn
4th Hipswell
5th Middleton Tyas
Many thanks to Bedale Tennis Club for allowing us to host the event on their courts and those that helped on the event. RAF Leeming will go forward to represent Richmondshire at the Youth Games on 4th July.
