Raf Leeming qualify for Youth Games

Wensleydale Rugby Club hosted the Wensleydale/Bedale Tag Rugby Festival on 27th May. Fifteen teams from seven schools from the Bedale and Wensleydale Cluster came to compete for the opportunity to represent the Risedale SSP at the Youth Games on 4th July at Queen Margarets.

Duncan Burgess CRC for Hambleton and Richmondshire with the support of the other CRC's from North Yorkshire ran the event with the help of Young Leaders from Wensleydale School.

Teams were split into 4 pools of competition were the teams played in a round robin competition. Once these games had been completed the teams were pooled for a second time in accordance with their finishing position and were given an opportunity of another three games.

1st and 2nd were tied on points and tries scored and so the results had to got to tries difference.  The eventual results were:

1st Raf Leeming 1
2nd Middleham 2
3rd Leyburn 1
4th Askrigg 1

Congratulations to all those involved on a great afternoons rugby but espically to RAF Leeming who will be representing the Partnership at the Youth Games on 4th July.
