Bedale win tight contest

Bedale High School U14 basketball team won the Hambleton and Richmondshire Area rally held at Risedale Commnity College this week.

Despite losing one game by one point to eventual runners up Easingwold, Bedale won all their other games and ran out eventual victors in convincing style.

Five of the squad, Harvey Gill, Harry Jeffrey, Harry Hutchinson, Natasha Sedgwick and Tom Wilford were selected for the Area team and the Bedale High School team will go forward to represent the Area in the County Championships next month.

Head of PE Martyn Coombs said 'this was an exceptional performance by the squad who managed some convincing wiins in the tournament and they were worthy winners
